This panel will explore the process of developers and publishers outsourcing music production to external freelancers and music production studios. It will dive into the workflow tips and tricks that lead to the most efficient and successful collaborations.

It will offer a unique insight, as it includes individuals from both sides of the table — James and Andrea providing the Music / Audio Director perspective, and Richard and Chance providing the perspective of a composer collaborating with a developer or publisher.

Topics will include: Selecting a freelance composer or music production studio; pitching for a project; revisions and iterations, communication & file deliveries; and what makes a successful collaboration run smoothly.

In this talk, she went over the evolution of the Hi-Rez audio team and the different types of initiatives in hiring and R&D employed to attract and retain talent to their audio team. She also provided an inside perspective on the culture of learning and exploration that the audio team strives to achieve, as well as how their lean audio team is able to support 4+ games all concurrently in development.
